Chicago – Skyline Best Seen on a Twilight River Cruise

Chicago river

Chicago's amazing architecture is best seen from the river and doing so at twilight adds something special as building lights illuminate. The Chicago Architecture Foundation's (CAF) river cruise is fun and relaxing and for around 90 minutes, it was nice way to find out more about the architecture along the Chicago River and also a great way to photograph the buildings.

The twilight river cruise starts at 7:30pm and ends at 9:00pm (only runs in the late Spring through Summer) and I...

Chicago – Bike Tour Around the Lakefront

Chicago skyline

A pleasant way of seeing Chicago and enjoying a nice day out is to do a bike tour around the lakefront, which provides some great views of the city skyline. While I think you can also rent a bike for your own tour, I chose to join Bobby's Bike Hike. Lollapalooza – Concert for the Taste Buds

Singapore tapas

Update: Lollapalooza has closed.

Newcomer to Singapore’s tapas dining scene Lollapalooza is a class act. The menu is also fairly varied offering a good selection to choose from which also makes it a bit difficult to define the cuisine - so let’s just say it’s Mediterranean. The drawbacks are slight with one being a rather uninspiring...

Cote d’Azur – Escape the Hordes, Head for the Hills

Cote d'Azur

The Cote d'Azur is much more than just the resort beach towns of Cannes, Nice or St Tropez. So, if you need to escape the hordes, the hills above the shoreline contain scenic medieval hill towns which can be easily visited in a day trip. Must sees here include the towns of St Paul de Vence and Gourdon and Matisse's Chapelle du Rosaire in Vence. The winding roads may also be familiar to 007 movie fans.

We were lucky enough to be staying in St Paul de Vence so it was a handy base for us...
