For a view of Seattle’s city skyline, I took a ferry to Bainbridge Island. Going on a Saturday morning also meant I could check out the farmers’ market – a big plus as I\u00a0discovered a most amazing cinnamon bun. The ferry ride is an easy 35 minutes and you also get sight of\u00a0Mt Rainier looming over the sound on the way.<\/p>\n

I’m in Seattle for a week visiting relatives and with the unusual run of dry weather, keen to take a bunch of photos. One of the nicest views of the city can be seen from the ferry so my aunt and I decided to take a trip to Bainbridge Island.<\/p>\n

We were lucky that our trip coincided with the weekly farmers’ market. I love browsing farmers’ markets – usually there’s good\u00a0food to try and buy. While this was a small market, we still ended up picking up some very sweet and fresh sugar snap peas that we ate along the way and bought a pork jowl and chorizo sausages for dinner and very good goat’s cheese seasoned with thyme and white pepper. And last but not least, I had the best cinnamon bun I’ve ever had from Coquette bakery.<\/p>\n

I took the 7:55am ferry over and the 10:25 am ferry back to Seattle. There are regular crossings. It’s an easy 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal on the island to the farmers’ market and the town centre.<\/p>\n

Bainbridge Island is also popular for its nature trails and biking routes.<\/p>\n
