Food like this is almost always wonderfully satisfying, where the taste of quality meat shines through with minimal garnishing. “Honest” food as some other reviewers call it. It helps that the food is cooked well. We normally just leave our meal in the hands of chef-owner Pietro Porcu and this leads to a series of seafood based antipasti, a pasta entree, and the braised and roasted meat. The roast kid and pork are usually very good, with some of the meat coming fresh from Pietro’s own farm outside Melbourne. The restaurant sits on Toorak Road with a narrow front area that opens up to added seating in the back where there’s a wood burning oven and a spit. Reservations are recommended – whenever I go, it is almost always full.
